Statutory Committees
As suggested by University Grants Commission, New Delhi, the College has established a Grievance Redressal Cell, to provide a mechanism for redressal of students’ grievances and ensure the transparency in admission, and prevention of unfair practices, etc. The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. The cell will deal with Grievances received in writing from the students about Academic Matters like Related to timely issue of duplicate Mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates or other examination related matters and other matters like related to dues and payments for various items from library, hostels etc. The Cell actively seeks to address all the issues faced by the students. The Cell suggests different ways & means to the higher authorities to minimize & prevent grievances. Students can communicate their grievances in writing to Principal or any member of the Cell.
Objective:
The objective of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the college. Following are the objectives of the Cell
- Upholding the dignity of the College by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the premises through promoting cordial relationship among the Student, Teacher and administrative staff.
- Encouraging the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.
- Suggestion / complaint Box is installed in front of the Administrative Block in which the Students may put in writing their grievances and suggestions for improvement.
- Advising Students of the College to respect the right and dignity of one another.
- Advising all staffs to be affectionate to the Students

Our College strongly believes sexual harassment against a woman is a violation of the fundamental rights of women to equality. The institution is committed to providing a safe and conducive environment for students and women at the workplace as per the Sexual Harassment of woman employers and students in the higher institution at (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.As per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC and the Supreme Court, an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell has been constituted by Anjuman Arts Science Commerce College & PG Studies Dharwad in order to provide a safe, secure and congenial atmosphere to the staff and students of the College.
Under the Act, the meaning of sexual harassment includes any one or more of the following unwelcome acts or behaviour
- Physical contact and advances
- A demand or request for sexual favours
- Making sexually coloured remarks
- Showing pornography
- Any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature
Objective: The cell was constituted to meet the following four objectives:
- To prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women and students in the college by promoting gender amenity
- To develop principles and procedures for combating sexual harassment in the college premises.
- To work out details for the implementation of the policy.
- To prepare a detailed plan of action.
Activities of the Cell
The College has established the Sexual Harassment Redressal Cell. The Cell intends to take care of complaints from women and solve the problems according to UGC guidelines and Supreme Court orders. The Cell creates awareness on sexual harassment redressal mechanisms. The Cell organizes seminars/special talks and speeches about sexual harassment in the campus, programmes on human rights, legal awareness are also organize for all the students in general and girls students in particular Displays the information about the programmes of the Cell on notice boards of the offices, hostels and departments in the College.

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have been identified as the two most backward groups of Indian Society. They include all such castes, races or tribes which have been declared as scheduled castes and scheduled tribes by the Constitution of India under the provisions of Article 341 and 342 of the Constitution of India. Scheduled Castes generally represent those communities, which have suffered from the stigma of untouchability in one form or the other. Scheduled Tribes are generally those who have been living in seclusion in hills and forests, more or less untouched by modern civilization and development. A Special Cell for the welfare of students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has been set up. The cell has the responsibilities of receiving, scrutinizing and processing applications from SC/ST students pursuing their course of study. The main objective of the cell is to Function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of SC/ST students and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
Objectives
- To encourage SC / ST Students in admission process in the Colleges.
- To collect data regarding the implementation of the policies in respect of admissions in the College.
- To take such follow up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Government and the UGC.
- To organize awareness programmes on various schemes of the government

Anjuman Arts, Science, Commerce College and PG Studies Dharwad has established a Women Empowerment Cell (ladies Association) in the college campus to empower and safeguard the rights of female members; faculty, staff and students of the college. The Cell is established to help sensitize students towards the various problems faced by women and other gender-based issues. The Cell works to promote gender sensitivity in the college and conduct diverse programmes to educate, sensitize both male and female members and produce a harmonious atmosphere on the campus. It works for the welfare of the students and faculty towards preparing them as competent professionals to take up greater challenges in the academic sphere & to empower women to face the present challenges by providing tools and techniques that help to eliminate individual stress. The Cell also encourages women to find practical solutions to their challenges so that each one becomes self-dependent in their own right.
Objectives
- To develop the self-confidence of women in building their capacity.
- To educate girl students on women specific health issues and measures.
- Creating social awareness about the problems of women, gender equity and prevention of sexual harassment
- To help women students understand their strength and potential
- To promote awareness among girl students on occupational, legal and constitutional rights.
- To sensitize girl students on gender equality and to further encourage them to advocate gender equality within the community.
